I see lots of 3154 16" woofers on rip-off bay for $100 ea. and wonder how they would work in my 8 cu. ft. cabinets to replace the 418-8A II guitar speakers in there now?
I have modeled them in WinISD and with a 3x11x6.75" port show flat to f3 of 31hz.
This appears to be the easiest and cheapest route to go vs reconing the 418's. I could then either sell the 418's or build a speaker for my son and his electric guitar.
What say you all?

Actually a c note is dirt cheap for a 3154. All I have seen went higher.
Don't confuse it with the 3156, that's more like a 418.
3154 has more lows than either.
I would think a substantial improvement over the 418.

3156 is a "high efficiency full range" as opposed to the 3154. It would be an improvement over the 418 but I'd recommend use as mid-bass.

Or just move onto plan B, the 418's look like 416Bs, just recone them as such? Any other choices, can they be reconed as 3154s?
